Three-Phase Video Separator (Ambient)

The Three-Phase Video Separator (Ambient), model CT-FM-VS3A, measures the gas, oil and water volumes of a produced-fluid stream during core flooding at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature. Effluent enters a vertical glass separation tube linked to a visualization tube, and a camera reads the phase levels. It is part of the Coretest fluid monitoring group with two-phase separators, HPHT separators, video trackers and fraction collectors.

How it works

The three-phase mixture settles by density in the glass separation tube, with gas above, oil in the middle and water at the bottom. The interfaces are read in the visualization tube across a 50 mm field of view by a 5 megapixel CCD color camera with 20 W lighting. Measurement resolution is 0.02 mm and stated volume accuracy is 0.01 ml. Separation is at ambient conditions, with a maximum temperature of 40 °C. The maximum volume change is 50 ml for liquid and 50 ml for liquid and gas, with other ranges on request. Wetted material is glassware. Power is 110/220 VAC, 50 or 60 Hz.

Volume, pressure and temperature ratings, wetted materials, seals and instrumentation are configured per project.
