Initial fluid saturation

Initial fluid saturation measurement recovers and quantifies water and oil held in freshly cut core. Coretest offers the Dean-Stark extractor, which distills and collects pore water for gravimetric saturation, and the retort oven, which drives off fluids by high-temperature retorting. Both give the native saturations used to calibrate logs.
