Lab Stirred Pressure Reactor LSPR100ml/50l

The Lab Stirred Pressure Reactor LSPR is a closed vessel with an internal agitator, used to run reactions under gas pressure at temperature while the contents are mixed. The family spans 100 ml to 50 l and can be designed for up to 300 bar and 500 °C. Typical uses are hydrogenation, polymerization, catalyst screening and corrosion testing. Vessels are supplied as bench top units, on a floor stand or on a movable cart.

How it works

The charge is loaded into the vessel, the head is closed and the reactor is pressurized with process gas and heated from outside. The stirrer shaft is driven through a magnetic coupling, available from low to high torque, so the pressure boundary is a static seal with no leakage path and no packing to wear. In the Coretest stirred autoclave family the head and vessel close with a split clamp, an external band heater is run by a PID controller reading a Pt100 in a thermowell, and the head carries a pressure gauge, rupture disc, gas inlet, sampling dip tube, vent valve and cooling coil. The fittings for a given size are listed in the project datasheet.

Wetted materials are SS304, SS316, PTFE, titanium, nickel, Hastelloy B/C, Monel, zirconium and Inconel, chosen for the chemistry, hydrogen service or the corrosion test medium. Non-stirred vessels of the same design pressure and temperature are also built.
