Safety Devices

  • Safety Devices LEPR are overpressure protection parts for pressure reactors. The core item is a rupture disc safety device mounted on the reactor. Chemical reactions carried out under pressure call for a high safety standard, and the rupture disc gives a non-reclosing relief path if the vessel pressure rises beyond its rated limit.

    How it works

The disc is a thin membrane that stays closed at working pressure and bursts at its rated pressure, venting the vessel. Rupture discs and pressure relief valves are often piped to a blow down tank so that the released medium is contained rather than discharged into the laboratory. The burst pressure, disc material and outlet routing are matched to each reactor.

    What is included

    • Rupture disc safety device for the reactor
    • Pressure relief valve and blow down tank connection, where specified for the project

    Specify for your project

    • Reactor model, design pressure and design temperature
    • Required burst pressure and the process medium in contact with the disc
    • Whether a pressure relief valve is required in addition to the disc
    • Discharge routing: vent to atmosphere or to a blow down tank

This description defines the product family. Guaranteed performance, included hardware, exclusions, interfaces and acceptance criteria are stated only in the project-specific technical proposal and approved datasheet.
