Drop Tester
The Drop Tester LEGD determines how impact affects a package during use, transport, loading and unloading. The package is lifted on a swing arm and released in free fall onto the bottom slab. Besides flat drops on a face, the machine performs edge and corner drops. Two models cover drop heights of 300 to 1500 mm and 300 to 2000 mm.
How it works
The swing arm carries the package up a double-column guide to the set height, and a self-locking screw in the lifting mechanism stops the arm from sliding down unintentionally. On release, the pneumatically driven arm pulls away from the package with an acceleration greater than 3 g, faster than the package falls, so the drop is a free fall. A hydraulic buffer absorbs the force of the arm, and automatic pneumatic interlocks prevent abnormal detachment of the arm. The support bracket and bottom slab are extensible.
Standards listed for the machine are ISO 2248-72(E), GB/T 4857.5, JIS Z0202-87 and IEC 68-2-27. Utilities are AC 110/220 V, 50/60 Hz, and compressed air at 0.5 to 0.7 MPa.
