Slake-durability index meter LESDIM

  • The LESDIM instrument is used to assess the abrasion resistance of a rock sample weakened and partially disintegrated by two standard desiccation and imbibition cycles. Samples are alternately tumbled in mesh drums partially submerged in water followed by oven drying, for two or three cycles. The slake durability index is defined as the percent mass loss at the end of the cycles.
