Compact Vacuum Oven

The Compact Vacuum Oven (model CT-GEO-VAC) dries samples under vacuum in a small, portable bench unit. It is listed under organic geochemistry sample preparation, where samples have to be dried at a set temperature without exposure to air, or under an inert atmosphere, before analysis.

How it works

Samples are placed under a glass bell mounted on a stainless steel 316L body. The bell is sealed by a FKM (Viton) O-ring and the chamber is evacuated to 0.001 mm Hg (0.13 Pa). Temperature and vacuum level are the controlled variables. The temperature range is 30 °C to 170 °C with a stated precision of 0.3 percent. The transparent bell gives visual control of the sample during drying, and the chamber can be operated under an inert atmosphere.

The bell has an inside diameter of 230 mm, an inside height of 130 mm and a volume of 5 L. Overall dimensions are 340 x 320 x 270 mm and the unit weighs 13 kg. It is supplied for 220 V, 50 Hz or 110 V, 60 Hz.
