Sterilization Oven

The LEGMH Sterilization Oven is a dry-heat oven for bacteria killing, pyrogen removal and drying sterilization of solid items such as vials, ampoules, aluminum caps, metal parts and glassware. It is built to GMP requirements for pharmaceutical production. Two formats are offered: a batch chamber oven in four sizes, and a tunnel oven in four lengths for continuous sterilization of ampoules and bottles.

How it works

Trays, bottles or a loaded trolley are placed in the chamber and the program is started from the PLC touch screen. The circulation blower runs, heating starts and the butterfly valve opens. Hot, dry air passes through high-temperature HEPA filters and a micro-porous distributor to give even airflow across the load. Moisture from the load is carried into the heating channel, evaporated and exhausted, while fresh filtered air is added intermittently so the chamber stays at slight positive pressure. At the end of the hold the butterfly valve closes for air delivery or forced water cooling, and a sound and light alarm signals that the door may be opened.

Batch models LEGMH-225, 640, 1200 and 1800 have working chambers from 600 x 500 x 750 mm to 1000 x 1200 x 1500 mm, 9 to 28 kW heating, 3500 to 6300 m3/h circulation, a design range of room temperature to 300 °C, a working range to 250 °C and empty-chamber heat distribution of ±3 °C. Tunnel models LEGMH-D3M to D6M are 3 to 6 m long with a 0.38 m tunnel width, 18 to 30 kW, 50 to 350 °C, a stainless steel 1Cr18Ni9Ti inner wall and conveyor chain, and quartz tube or gas heating.

4. Operation Principle: Place the trays, bottles or trolley fully loaded with the materials into the chamber of oven and start PLC programmable control system. Then, the blower for internal circulation is running and heating starts, meanwhile the butterfly valve opens and the temperature of the oven chamber rises rapidly. With the blower for internal circulation, hot and dry air enters into the oven chamber through the high-temperature resistant HEPA filters. Under the role of micro-porous regulation, an evenly-distributed air is formed for transmission into the oven chamber. The dry air absorbs the moisture remaining on the surfaces of materials for its entrance into the heating channel, resulting in evaporation and outward expulsion. The dry air flows in directional circulation simultaneous intermittent supplementation of fresh filtered air, the inside chamber of oven exhibits the state of micro-positive pressure. With the termination of the constant temperature, the control of processing comes to the end. When the air delivering or forced cooling (with water) starts, the automatic butterfly valve will close, and then it gives sound and light alarm to open the door and remove the materials or bottles.
