Horizontal Chemical High Pressure Vessels
Lying on its side, a horizontal pressure vessel spreads its load along the length and keeps a low profile, which suits large storage volumes and long cylinder tanks. The LEHCHPV series provides such horizontal high pressure vessels and cylinder storage tanks for energy, oil and gas, and chemical service, including high pressure hydrogen storage. Volumes run from 100 L to 200 m3 at -1 to 200 bar and -40 to 350 °C.
Design
The higher the working pressure, the thicker the cylinder wall. Base thickness ranges from 6 to 160 mm. Above 16 mm, cladding plates are considered: the base material provides strength and a 3 to 10 mm clad layer provides corrosion resistance. Shell materials are carbon steel (CS), stainless steel (SS), other alloy lined, and alloys such as Hastelloy, Monel or Inconel.

Limits
Parameter Limit Length 16 m Diameter 6 m Weight 200 tons Diameters above 6,000 mm are fabricated on site. Above 200 tons or 40 m total length, the vessel is shipped in segments and welded in the field.

Internal cooling coil, vent port, liquid or powder charging, dip tube, thermowell, safety rupture disc, pressure safety valve, flush bottom outlet, baffles, light and sight glass, handhole or manhole. Internal and external finishes are offered.
